As Entelar Group began retiring switches from Spark's network in response to the global change from landline to mobile devices the question became “what do you do with material which no longer had a value as it is, but still retains significant inherent component value”. This was the challenge, and this was the opportunity. Recognising that both parties were experts in their fields, our two organisations came together to form a partnership to find the answer in a way which respected each other’s expertise and contribution. Through learning from each other and working collaboratively, we have successfully navigated many years and millions of kilos/kilograms of recycled tech to deliver more value than either party could have imagined.
Ultimately, the solution lay in that collaboration. By establishing clear ground rules and identifying what each party contributed, it became possible to set up a consistently working partnership. This partnership enabled us to have full visibility on the material as it became available, and we were able to plan and commit the resources needed to process it. Then working with global downstream partners who could ensure maximum return on the value of the commodities produced. This meant Entelar Group felt able to trust us completely and knew they could simply rely on us to deliver what we said we would.
1. We begin by identifying which materials are getting to end of life.
2. Entelar Group engineers decommission the infrastructure.
3. They arrange for it to come to our facilities, and we do the rest.
4. All material is processed in compliance with globally accredited and audited standards and shipped ethically to international partners using appropriate permits.
5. Once processed, and to close the loop, we report with full disclosure and complete transparency in a mutually agreed and consistent manner.
This process reflects the full circularity of the work we do and the relationship we have.
